Congratulations, Dr Tony Weldon – The Order of Australia (OAM)

Long-term client, Dr Tony Weldon, was proud to be awarded one of Australia’s highest honours on Australia Day this year.

He received the Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia for service to the community, and to paediatric medicine.

Dr Tony Weldon is a semi-retired paediatrician and has been the Chairman of the B’nai B’rith Courage to Care (Vic.) Program since 2005. The focus of Courage to Care is to inform and educate Australians, particularly students, on the dangers of prejudice and discrimination. The program travels throughout the state of Victoria and has given more than 100,000 students the opportunity to participate in exhibition programs, incursion programs, and as hosts of programs at their schools.

Courage to Care (Vic.) is in on the verge of major future developments. We invite you to take a moment and familiarise yourself with the website (www.couragetocare.org.au) showcasing this important program that teaches tolerance and fosters acceptance and the appreciation of diversity, so that students are empowered to be an ‘upstander’, and not simply a bystander when bad behaviour, such as bullying, racism and bigotry is on display.
